Feet on the blocks

I'm not sure if there is ever a perfect time or a perfect place to start anything we do in life.  But, I do know if you don't start...you never reach your destination.

Mark and I have been inspired to begin an exploration of the physical and spiritual aspects of our journey here on earth and how they are interrelated.  I've spent years watching many people in my life deal with both physical ailments and spiritual struggles, as well as living in struggles with many areas of my own life and believe with everything that is in me that there are connections between them.  I also believe that Jesus promises us freedom, peace, grace and mercy in our journey here.

We would like to fellowship with others and share in this journey while further discussing the things that cause us struggles, spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally and what do they all have in common?

What things do we need to change in our heart, in our disciplines, in our mind, and in our attitudes in order to walk out this life in a Kingdom manner having a Kingdom impact within our realms of influence?

So, this is simply an introduction of our BodynSoul group where we can bring our concerns, ideas, plans, dreams and questions. A place where we can share, edify, pray for and encourage one another with own discoveries.
We have been inspired to commit to our own search after watching my father pass at a very young age of 69. I believe that his early death was precipitated by poor diet, poor exercize and other vices.  Yes, he was busy building the Kingdom of God, but His lack of discipline and stewardship kept him in so many ways from walking fully in the Will that God had for him.  Dad struggled with depression, bi-polar disorder, mania and obesity.  I'm not saying he wouldn't have had some of these physical ailments from his genetics, but are there spiritual and physical things he could have done to have a better quality of life? Could they have been the infamous thorn in his flesh? Absolutely!! But the Father says that he can heal all things and that we are to steward over what he gives us.

In addition to my father passing at such an early age, I lost my brother at the age of 44 and my mother deals with alzheimers disease which is the most painful disease to watch somebody walk through.
I know for myself and for my husband Mark, we have decided that we want to live long, full and healthy lives so that we can fully serve and honor our Father in heaven and have a Kingdom impact on our community.

So, here we are our feet are on the blocks, ready to start running the race that we are in and see where this road might lead. Hop on the track with us and discover what the Lord might have. We wait expectantly to see what revelations the Lord might have for us along the way.
